The first real question isn’t the finish or the tiles, it’s the shape. A lap pool for a narrow plot, an infinity edge if your view deserves it, a plunge pool if space is tight, or a wider family pool if it’s mainly for the kids and weekend get-togethers.
Each of these changes the structural work involved. An infinity edge needs a catch basin and extra pump capacity, for example, so it’s a bigger build than it looks from the outside. The edge type matters too: most villa pools use a skimmer edge, where the water sits a few inches below the rim and gets pulled through wall skimmers. It’s the simplest and cheapest to maintain. An overflow edge sits flush with the rim and spills into a channel around it for a constant waterline, which needs a balance tank and costs more to build.

Yes. Every villa pool needs approval before construction starts, and if your villa is in a managed community, you’ll also need a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the developer.
