Villa landscaping in Dubai runs AED 180 to AED 300 per square meter, depending on materials, plants, and design. Most full projects land somewhere between AED 30,000 and AED 350,000+, and where you fall in that range comes down to plot size, material choice, and whether you’re adding a pool, pergola, or water feature.
Quick answer
Plot size drives most of it. A bigger garden needs more turf, more planting, more irrigation pipe, more paving, so the price climbs with the square meters. That’s the obvious part, though. Size alone won’t tell you what your quote will actually look like.
Materials do a lot of the heavy lifting on price. Natural stone, better turf, and heavier-duty irrigation lines all cost more going in than the basic alternatives. We tend to recommend spending here anyway, because Dubai’s heat and salty groundwater are hard on cheap materials, and what you save now often shows up as a repair bill in two or three years.
Plants matter more than people expect too. A mature palm or a full hedge costs a lot more to install than something small that fills in over a season. Then there’s everything on top: water features, raised beds, pergolas, outdoor kitchens. None of that is included in a base landscaping quote, and it’s worth deciding early which of these you actually want, because they can move a budget more than people realize. If you want to talk through the options before anything’s locked in, our landscaping contractor team can walk you through it.
The AED 180 to 300 figure covers the core garden: the lawn and planting, the paving and edging, and basic irrigation. A garden that’s mostly lawn with simple planting sits near the bottom of that range. Add more paving, a pergola, or a water feature and you’re pushing toward the top. A pool, a BBQ counter, a padel court, none of that is in the base rate. Those get priced separately, and we’ve broken each one out below so there’s nothing hidden.
This is the same pricing our estimators actually use on live projects, not a marketing table built after the fact. Use it to get a feel for your own budget, or as a starting point before you ask us for a proper quote.
| Item | Typical Cost (AED) |
|---|---|
| Paving / outdoor tiles / interlock / turfstone (per sqm, supply + install) | AED 200 to 650 |
| Bar counter and BBQ counter (including equipment, sink & tap, and shutters) | AED 15,500 to 75,000 |
| Shower area (freestanding, wall-mounted, or concealed mixer with diverter) | AED 12,500 to 25,000 |
| Outdoor seating area / decking / sunken seating area | AED 25,000 to 100,000 |
| Padel tennis court / badminton court (per sqm) | AED 550 to 1,000+ |
| Raised planter boxes | AED 1,500 to 10,000 |
| Pergola / shade structure | AED 15,000 to 100,000+ |
| Retaining walls (per linear metre) | AED 500 to 1,500 |
Pools and water features get scoped as their own line item, technically separate from the garden. In practice, most villa projects want both, so we’ve kept our pool rates in the same table rather than making you go hunting for them.
For a full breakdown of how pool type and size affect the price, our complete guide to swimming pool construction in Dubai covers it in more depth.

These are the ranges we actually see across our own projects, not industry averages pulled from somewhere else. Where you land within each range comes down to site access, material choice, and how many of these categories you’re combining into one job.
If you’d rather think in plot size than category by category, here’s roughly what the base garden costs at AED 180 to 300 per square meter, before pools, pergolas, or anything else from the tables above.
| Plot size | Estimated cost (at AED 180 to 300/sqm) |
|---|---|
| Up to 100 sqm | From AED 30,000 (minimum project value) |
| 600+ sqm, with premium features | AED 108,000 to 350,000+ |
| 400 sqm | AED 72,000 to 120,000 |
| 200 sqm | AED 36,000 to 60,000 |
A few things sit outside the tables above, and they’re worth knowing about before you set a budget. NOC and community approval takes real staff time to prepare and submit, even though we handle it for you rather than you dealing with it.
Dubai’s native soil is sandy and doesn’t hold nutrients well, so most gardens need the soil improved before anything gets planted. And a newly planted garden drinks more water in its first season while the roots are still settling in, so don’t be surprised if your water bill runs a bit higher that first summer.
One more thing we always check: if there are mature damas (conocarpus) trees or other fast-rooting species anywhere near walls, pools, or drainage lines, we plan around them, since their roots are a well known cause of cracked paving and blocked pipes in older Dubai villa gardens.
Plan for up to 6 months from your first design meeting to handover on a full project. A smaller refresh moves quicker. Anything with irrigation, a pool, or mature tree planting tends to run longer, mostly because there’s simply more work to sequence properly.
Soil prep eats more of that timeline than people expect. Dubai’s sandy soil usually needs treating before planting starts, which adds a few days upfront. It’s not a step we’d skip though. It’s the difference between plants that make it through their first summer and plants you’re replacing six months later.
In most gated communities, yes, and it’s not something you can skip. In Nakheel communities like Palm Jumeirah, and Emaar communities like Dubai Hills, the developer wants to see your garden plan against their community rules before anyone breaks ground. If you want to check the current guidelines yourself, Nakheel’s community management team is the right place to start (nakheel.com). We handle this whole process for you though, along with anything Dubai Municipality needs, so it’s genuinely not something you have to chase down yourself.
We’ve built villa gardens in Al Furjan, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Hills, Jumeirah Park, and Sobha Hartland, among other places. Every one of those communities has its own soil, its own plot layouts, its own approval quirks. That variety is honestly part of why we keep design, build, and approvals inside one in-house team instead of handing pieces off to subcontractors. One team stays accountable from the first sketch through to the final planting, and nothing gets lost between handoffs.
A well built garden isn’t only about enjoying it, either. Buyers and agents increasingly factor outdoor space into how they compare villas against each other (propertyfinder.ae), and the broader UAE landscaping market has been on a steady growth curve, with more of that spending expected over the next few years (mordorintelligence.com).

Expect AED 180 to AED 300 per square meter for the base garden. Once you add in paving, planting, and anything like a pool or pergola, most full projects end up somewhere between AED 30,000 and AED 350,000 or more.
A standard pool runs roughly AED 2,850 to AED 5,500 per square meter. A full skimmer pool typically costs AED 45,000 to AED 300,000. Go for an overflow or infinity edge design and you’re looking at AED 50,000 up to AED 500,000 or more, depending on size and finish.
Up to 6 months for a full project, though it depends heavily on plot size and how complex the design is. Add a pool, irrigation, or mature tree planting and the timeline stretches out, simply because there’s more to sequence.
In most gated communities, yes, including Nakheel and Emaar areas. We handle that approval process as part of the project, so it’s not something you need to manage yourself.
Plot size, above everything else. After that it’s material quality, which plants you choose, and whether you’re adding pools, water features, or pergolas. Even how your square meters split between lawn, paving, and structures moves the price within the same rate.
Al Furjan, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Hills, Jumeirah Park, Sobha Hartland, and others. Each one has different soil and different approval rules, which we plan for before we start.
Generally, yes, in the sense that a well designed garden is a plus when villas get compared side by side. Outdoor space matters more to buyers than it used to. How much value it actually adds depends on the design quality, the plot, and the community, so it’s more of a presentation investment than a guaranteed number.
No. Our engineers, architects, and site crews are all in-house, which means one team is accountable for your design, build, and approvals from start to finish.
